ARROG'GLOR GURTHRON (God Corpse Forest)
When the Sundering occurred, the slowly decomposing cadaver of a God, buried beneath the region that used to be known as the FoxFire Woods (which then became part of the Middle Neversea Lake at the start of the Third Age) rose briefly to animated life. It is said to have stumbled westwards several hundred miles, before it uttered a terrible scream of ineffable rage (which killed every living thing for over a hundred miles), and succumbed once more to death; standing amongst the mountains – a colossal, rotting, preternatural, cadaver.
Unnatural spores in and on the corpse (which had long been seeping into the soils above the deities original resting place, giving rise to the afore mentioned wood, and to many aberrant plants and monsters in the days Pre-Sundering) immediately began to sprout, and within 2 years of the Sundering, a thick forest of warped and bizarre fungi covered the massive corpse from head to foot. It also spread beyond, forming a vast fungal forest around it. Arrog’Glor Gurthron is now home to the Glurr; fungal creatures of a generally passive nature, and it is their language that gives the area its more unusual name.
